April 29, 2014- 1984 Again
I was at my former high school (I hated that place) sitting
in a circle on the floor of the lobby with 35 other girls. A few of them were
classmates of mine. I saw John Taylor in the center of this which I was happy
about. He was doing a lecture/Q&A session here. We all looked as we did circa 2004.
Strange things
began happening after only about a few minutes. First off, our appearances all
changed to that of around 1984. We wondered what the hell was going on. No one
else besides us were in this building now and we were trapped inside of it.
We decided to split
up into six groups to explore the place in hopes of discovering a way out
and/or what had caused this to happen. I was disappointed that I wasn’t part of
the John one, of course.
Rooms were changing
dramatically in some areas. My group was in the cafeteria but then part of it
became an ice cream parlor. A little later, another room turned into a
convenience store. We saw some magazines there; one was Tiger Beat from July of 1984; Duran Duran was on the cover.
As we were going into the guidance counselor’s office, we
now found ourselves outside. When we turned around, we discovered that the
building had disappeared. This situation was becoming even more bizarre and
scary now.
The area appeared
less developed as well. I saw a park across the street. We decided to walk
across to it. In a section of it was a few picnic tables and a grill. Food was
on both. We were kind of hungry and wondered if this would even be safe to eat.
We went ahead and did so.
A lady came up to
us after this and told us that there was a carnival/fair being held a little
ways down the road. She also mentioned that a concert was taking place there.
One of the girls asked in a hopeful tone “Is it Duran Duran?”
The lady’s response
was “Who is that?” and said that it was a George Strait show. These girls
didn’t seem that interested in this. We did go to the carnival anyhow, hoping
that we would run into some or all of the other people that had been in the
school.
I heard Kenny
Roger’s “The Gambler” being played on the stereo system there. I saw a few of
the other girls and John over by one of the games, the ring toss. He had just
won a stuffed animal for one of them. That was sweet of him.
None of us were
overly freaking out about this odd experience now. I saw Joe, another classmate
who hadn’t even been a part of the JT event. He told me that he had been in his
back yard when all of a sudden he found himself in this setting.
There was a soft
serve ice cream stand that our 2 groups and Joe bought something from. Not far
from this was an area with picnic tables. We saw another of the group’s already
sitting there so we joined them.
None of us really
were discussing the mystery of how we had been made young again and teleported
to this 1984 environment, at least not yet. The program ended then so I would
never find out what happened next, however, which was disappointing. I hoped
that there might be a part 2 of this someday.
