1986 Met Life Snoopy Commercial
I just wanted to share a commercial that I liked from the 1980s today. I was watching some of the Peanuts Met Life ads on You Tube today. I just got back into the Peanuts comic strip in the paper over the past couple of months. I hadn't really read the funny pages in years and am not sure why I gave up on them. The Peanuts was always one of my favs. I still have 4 or 5 books that I got in the early 80's. I've been collecting Snoopy Hallmark ornaments for the past 14 years.

I didn't realize that Met Life has been using the Peanuts characters for that long. I love anything Peanuts. I had several little paperback Peanuts books when I was little that were full of the strips. My mother claims they helped me learn to read before I entered kindergarten (and also because of Easy Reader on The Electric Company, who was played by Morgan Freeman.)
Good 'ole Snoop.
I remember that. :)
Pam - At first I wasn't sure that my memory of them being around in the 80's was correct but now I know that I wasn't just imagining it. This ad particulary was one that seemed familiar. Cool - you can credit the Peanuts for helping you learn to read. Those kind of books were such fun to read. I watched the Electric company too but I only remember the part of it with that cartoon Letter Man.
Tom - He always brings a smile to my face. A friend of mine had a cat named after him.
Ally - It was my favorite out of all these 80's Met Life Peanuts commercials
Love this commercial. Sleuthing Snoopy reminds me of "It's a Mystery Charlie Brown" (one of my fave Peanuts books). I love anything Peanuts too. My all time favourite comic strip. Those paperback books were the stuff of dreams. My brother and I would sign them out like made at our school's library in elementary school.
Is it possible for you to take pics of your old Peanuts books Lara? Would love to see how they look :)
Chelly - I wish that our grade school library had these books too. Sounds like you and your brother truly enjoyed them. It's nice that you had this in common. My brother wasn't much of a reader but we did share an interest in sci-fi and other tv shows.
I actually do have photos of my Peanuts book so you'll be seeing this shortly. Thanks for the special request. Some days I get so overwhelmed as to which post to do next.
