The first photo is from a family summer party in 1968 and the second from about 25 years later

Summertime 1975
I looked closer at one of these photos recently and noticed that I am holding 2 small American flags so this summer family party must be a 4th of July one

Keychain Photo Viewer- 1974
This is the best that I could do with taking a photo of the picture that is inside this keychain. I hadn't seen it in a long time. I am not really certain where it was taken. It looks like we are at a motel pool. Maybe this was during our trip to Hershey Park. Or it could be somewhere down the shore, possibly Wildwood.

Movie Memories of the 1970s
Our family friend Al who was like an uncle to us had a projector, screen and the movie reels for these 3 films that he showed to us at our house on seperate occasions in the 1970s. Willie Wonka and Bedknobs and Broomsticks were shown in our basement. My brother and I had our friends over to watch them with us. One was for my birthday - Wonka, I think. Young Frankenstein was shown in our yard on a beautiful summer's night. He worked in the theater as did my Aunt Dorothy so we were lucky and got to see alot of free movies up until about 1983. Mom said that we went to most of the Disney films although I only really remember The Rescuers.

Summertime 1975

These are some of my favourite photos and memories of the 1970s. Summertime was always so much fun. I love the one of my brother sleeping with his racecar. We were goofing off and playing dressup one day - kind of strange to be wearing such things on a hot day. The photo on the bottom right is of Mom who is standing by our swingset, Aunt Dorothy, cousin Sal, Grandma, my brother and I.

Spring/Summer 1973

I remember my mom's friend Barbara James bringing over this adorable rabbit one spring day I loved petting it and wished that we could keep it. My brother and I sure had fun in our little pool in the summertime. I'm holding my favourite doll, Teresa. My brother was playing around in our Dad's shoes on our patio at the old apartment. That place seems to be in my dreams often, probably because I have such good memories of my childhood there. We still live in the same town, just on the other side of it where we've been for almost 18 years. It's hard to believe that it's been that long.
I hope that everyone has a great weekend. I feel bad that I did not devote time to reading and commenting on blog posts today. I shouldn't have spent so much of my limited time on my brother's computer looking up and saving recipes on disc. I probably won't be able to use it again until next Wednesday so I'm looking forward to catching up with my blog friends then.

Happy 4th of July
Here are my Star Spangled spaniel Buffy and Yankee Doodle Mookie in pictures from the early 2000s. Mom made their holiday bandanas. I can't believe that it has been 6 years without Mookie and nearly 8 months without our Buffy. I think about them everyday. My 4th of July memories are of going over to our family friend's house in Elizabeth for a barbecue/pool party then watching the fireworks in a park nearby throughout the 70's and 80's. We did so only once in the early 90's. I was living in Pittsburgh during the summer of 1989 and saw a nice fireworks dislplay set to music. The last time that I went to one of those was either in 1999 or 2000 with my boyfriend somewhere in Central-west Jersey.
I can't remember the last time that we actually put out our flag for this holiday. Probably the late 1980's. We still have our old one from the early 70's. It's in a box in the basement behind our storage totes. I have a patriotic t-shirt with a flag and golden retreiver puppies on it that I probably will wear this year. I wish that I still had the bear one that my aunt made me in the late 80's though.
I hope that everyone has a very Happy 4th of July.
