This is actually Mom's Barbie that she bought in the early 1990s, I think, but she said that I could have it when I recently asked her. I really like these International Barbies. I wish that we had gotten the Russian, French and English ones also so we'd have all my nationalities/heritage. Well, I'm actually part Ukranian but I don't think that they had this specific one, only Russian Barbie. I'm sure that I would be able to get them on ebay or elsewhere now but they probably are considered a collector's item and cost alot. I saw an Italian Barbie at Walmart the other day but it did not seem to be made as well as the ones from when I was a kid or even from the early - mid 1990s. They had retro Barbies there also, including the Peaches and Cream 1985 one that I still have from back then.

Polish Barbie is beautiful. Oh how I loved playing with barbies. When I was in my 20s my brother bought me one again so that I could recapture that childhood joy. I'm not sure what heritage it was but it was gorgeous. I loved it and yes I played with it :) I'll have to post a pic of it...your blog is inspiring me to post pics I'd forgotten about.
Chelly - I will look forward to seeing your Barbie. It was nice of your brother to buy it for you. I'm glad that you like mine and also that I gave you some inspiration for future posts. Barbies were such fun to play with. I had the Barbie camper too.
Oh WOW, I LOVE her! I had no idea they'd even made a Polish Barbie. I'll have to do some searching on eBay.
Pam - I really hope that you find this Barbie. Let me know if you do. My brother saw a Russian one for only 5.00 at a flea market last week and said that he was thinking about getting it for me - I wish that he had.
